The Fencing Institute Secondary School fencers brought home 5 individual medals and 3 team medals. Almost everyone was involved in a medal winning performance with others being placed 5th in the individual competitions or 4th in the teams. Some incredibly close matches. The 4th and final club event for 2019 is the Spring Cup on the 14th and 15th of September. It is an individual event. Register here

The Games of the Future was a lot of fun as well as great fencing. Our own double Olympian Martin Brill was accompanied by New Zealand's only women Olympian fencer, Jessica Beer who came down from Auckland to be with us. This weekend is the Games of the Future competition which is our mini Olympic Games for both novice and experienced fencers aged under 18. Bring a flag or wear a special item of clothing to represent a country. Our guest Jessica Beer who represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games in Athens will open the Under 18 Foil and Epee on Sunday. All girls and women fencers whether fencing or not are invited to have lunch with Jessica on Sunday around midday at a location near to the Fencing Institute. Meet at the Fencing Institute.
